One of the most annoying thing I’ve ever witness is network switching from 4G to 2G and you know what that means when its on 2G… I know some of you are having this issue, despite the facts that you have strong 3G in your location and your device supports 3G but you are constantly on 2G which is can be so annoying.
But there is a way you can force 3G WCDMA or 4G LTE only permanently on your smartphone. The only downside is that if you are in a location where 4G or 3G isn’t supported, you may not have network coverage.
These two codes below will work the wonders but may not be applicable on all smartphones.
1. *#*#4636#*#*
2. *#*#2846579#*#*
The first code worked perfectly well for me on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4
How Can I use the First Option?
1. Type *#*#4636#*#* using your dialer and you should be presented with a menu as seen below;
2. Click on Phone information (If your phone supports dual sim, phone information 1 is for sim 1 while phone information 2 is for sim 2)
3. Scroll down until you see a drop down menu where you can choose WCDMA only or LTE only
Once you select your option, go back and you are good to go.
How Can I Use Option 2?
1. Type *#*#2846579#*#* using your dialer and you should be presented with a menu. Select ProjectMenu.
2. Choose Network setting>>Network Mode
3. Select 3G only or other wise and you are good to go
Option 3
In the case where the two codes above doesn’t work for you, you can download the app. The app lets you dial the right code for your phone model and then completes the 3G/4G only data mode.
Download the app at Google play store link (http://ift.tt/2vUYLqp)
Install it and complete the onscreen prompt.
Let’s know which options works best for you.
