Xiaomi just launched two smartphones today Xiaomi Y1 and Xiaomi Y1 Lite.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has a 5.5” LCD with Full HD resolution and a Snapdragon 435 chipset with
an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz. There are two memory options - 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage or 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage.The phone runs MIUI 8 on Android Nougat 7.0, but it should get MIUI 9 by the end of the year.
The Redmi Y1 comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, with 76.4-degrees wide-angle lens, “LED Selfie” light, and f/2.0 aperture. On the back, it has a 13-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus, dual LED and f/2.2 aperture. Housed by 3080mAh battery capacity.
It also comes with space for 2 nano sim card slot and microSD card.
Xiaomi Y1 3GB/32GB will be priced at $140 (N50,400), 4GB/64GB version will be priced at $170 (N61,200).
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite
Apart from the processor and memory, most of the specs on Redmi Y1 Lite are same as Redmi Y1. It is powered by a lighter Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, and comes with 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage.
Y1 Lite comes with 5.5” LCD of 720p resolution. The selfie camera has a rather basic 5 MP sensor, but the main one has 13 MP.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite is priced at $108 (N38,880).
Both smartphones will be available online for purchase from November 8.
